MK 100® ESC High Plus Hybrid
The MK 100® ESC High Plus Hybrid is designed to combine the comfort requirements of driver assistance functions with the high pressure dynamic requirements of the Autonomous Emergency Brake (AEB) function. This is achieved while bench-marking performance/cost ratio, since the system uses the same MK 100® construction kit based on the 2 piston pump concept. For vehicles with less need of hydraulic performance, the MK 100® construction kit allows scaling of the system. MK 100® ESC High Plus Hybrid can be used in conventional cars as well as hybrids and electric vehicles. The only additional part needed for a vehicle with a regenerative brake system is a brake pedal position sensor. While braking, this sensor measures the brake request from the driver. A coordination software split this request dynamically between the deceleration by the recuperation of the generator in the driveline and the wheel brake itself. This is possible because of the capability of the MK 100® ESC High Plus Hybrid to store brake fluid internally and pump it back to the wheel brake upon request.
